WWA Wakeboard Worlds - Day 2 of 4

Eight Divisions Crown World Champs Today - Pro Divisions Set to Hit the Water Tomorrow

RENO, Nev. — 28 Riders from around the world hit the waters of Spark Marina today to vie for the world title in one of the eight division finals held on day two of the Rockstar WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra.

In the wakeskating category Lance Duffett (Silver Lake, WI), 17, upset yesterday's leader Collin Gee, to capture the world title for the Amateur Wakeskate Division. The Pro Women Wakeskate Division also held their finals today with Renee Jacquess (Orlando, FL), 26, taking home the world title.

Natsumi Noda (Saga City, Japan), 28, again paced her division to take home the world title for Amateur Women's Division. Noda wasn't the only female rider to lead her division for two straight days to capture a world title; Raimi Merritt (Lantana, FL), 14, also accomplished the same feat in the Girls Division. Today's win marks Merritt's third consecutive world title in the Girls Division.

On the men's side, Gavin Broadbent (Auckland, New Zealand), 42, continued his lead today to capture his second world title in the Veterans Division, after claiming his first win in 2005.

Zack Luckett (Brandon, MS), 26, again led his division to capture his first world title in the Men's II category.

Chris Full (LaValle, WI), upset yesterday's Masters Division leader to capture the world title. Today's win marks Full's first world title.

A.J. Powell (Valley, NE), 19, upset yesterday's Men's I Division leader A.J. Haynes to capture the world title.

The Boys, Jr. Women's and Junior Men Division also hit the water today with Jacob Valdez (Canyon Lake, CA), 13, leading the Boys Division with a score of 70.00 and Holland Finley (Austin, TX), 15, pacing the Jr. Women with a score of 52.22, while Mitch Langfield (Narangba, Australia), 16, led the Junior Men's Division with a score of 70.00.

Lastly, the Pro Wakeskate Division met today for the opening-round of competition with Reed Hansen (Groveland, FL), 17, leading the group with a score of 65.00.

On day three, the Pro Men and Pro Women will take to the water for their opening-rounds. Competition begins tomorrow morning at 8:00.
