The Parks' Double Or Nothing Stage Is Set

Riders came out firing on Monday in Orlando as 18 wakeboarders challenged for three open spots at the third and final qualifier for the Parks Double Or Nothing double up contest.

Located at the same venue as Feet On Fire on Clear Lake at "Krazy Kelmans," many hammers went down, but the heelside 900 seemed to be the move of the day as Adam Errington, Dean Smith and Jimmy LaRiche all landed theirs to secure the top three spots respectively. Nick Weinacker had some valiant attempts at a backside 900, which may soon go down, but not on Monday.

Event organizer Parks Bonifay was impressed with the riding and served up the meat as driver, timer and judge. "No one was scared to go big today. Adam Errington's 9 was the biggest I've ever seen." Bonifay also is looking forward to the main event in September. "It just happened that three 900's won at this qualifier. But for the main event, leave the 900's at home, unless it's backside. Riders are already working on mobe 720's, toeside backside 720's, new double rolls and 1080's. I'm also psyched to see some new faces in the mix."

During the week of September 10, the main event will be put on by Red Bull at an undisclosed location in Orlando the week before Surf Expo. It will be pulled by the MasterCraft X-Star and also will be supported by Fox Riders Co. The invited riders will be:
