Grubb Wins Boat Riding Event At The Projects
Another epic wake final went down today at The Projects during the final event of the 2007 Toe Jam wakeskate series, The Byerly Toe Jam presented by O'Neill.
Standout rider Ben Kaiser met Brian Grubb in the head-to-head final for another amazing Toe Jam showdown. Grubb was coming off a three-peat of wake victories on the 2007 Toe Jam series and was in great shape heading into the finals by winning the coin toss, opting to ride second. Aaron Reed was another standout rider today landing a huge shifty into the flats as well as a nosebone backside 180 and heelside 360.
In the final, Kaiser put together a decent run including a toeside shove-indy, frontside 360, backside 360 and smooth mute 180 off the double up. Then Grubb took to the water throwing down another amazing, flawless run that the Toe Jam is accustomed to seeing with a backside 180, toeside shove indy rewind, mute 360 and a perfect heelside shove indy off the double up.
Grubb was elated after his finals run, which was plenty to take the victory. "The Toe Jam gets harder every year. The level is so high now, so that means more with every win. Bringing 16 of the top wakeskaters together for four contests a year shows everybody the level that wakeskating is at now and the possibilities for the future."
Friday will consist of a rail contest at The Projects, as well as a winch "Best Trick" final, a famous event in Byerly Toe Jam history. Saturday will wrap up with a cable jam and awards party at the Orlando Watersports Complex.
The Byerly Toe Jam would like to thank presenting sponsor O'Neill, plus Sea-Doo, Hyperlite, Reef, Arnette and Air Nautiques. For more info, go to www.byerlytoejam.com. To learn more about The Projects, go to www.theprojectspark.com.
