2nd Annual KC Classic - Results - Stop #2 of the WWA World Wake Park Series

Riders from across the USA descended on KC Watersports in Hillsdale, Kansas over the weekend to take part in the 2nd annual KC Classic. Competitors battled it out to earn points towards the series title, as this event concluded the 2nd stop of the WWA Wake Park Series presented by Ten-80.

Three new divisions including Amateur Wakeskate, Beginner and Intermediate Wakeboard were added to the KC Classic with the top honors going to local riders. Cara Olsen finished first in the Beginner division with Tim Hamilton and Derek Perez taking 2nd and 3rd respectively. Reed Lieble showed his diverse skills on the water by landing a top spot in both the Intermediate Wakeboard and Amateur Wakeskate divisions. Ian Oldenburger finished 2nd and Max Bialick of Texas took 3rd in the Intermediate category along with 2nd place winner Brad Arnold and 3rd place finisher Collin Haas in the Amateur Wakeskate division.

In the Jr. Men's category, Josh Bank of Florida took first followed by Max Bialick of Texas in 2nd and Florida's Justin Dahan in 3rd. Louise Sawyer of Texas set the pace for the Open Women's division with a transfer to backside boardslide and a mute 360 and scarecrow off the kickers, landing herself a first place podium finish, while Anna Hajek of Orlando, FL came in 2nd and Danielle Coney of Austin,Texas finished up in 3rd.

Andrew Pastura of Orlando, FL threw together an unstopple run in the wakeskate division that included a backside bigspin, 3 shuv, switch bigspin over the hip, kickflip, and varial flip line that edged out the recent Byerly Toe Jam winner Brett Little of Texas getting 2nd, and landed Justin Dahan of Florida in 3rd. Other stand out moves in this division included a kickflip and a shuv-it frontside lipslide on the box by Little and a linked switch frontside big spin to a regular frontside big spin by Dahan.

Rob Mapp of Florida stepped it up in the head to head finals taking the Pro Men's title and outriding an increasingly tough and ever-growing field of competitors. Mapp threw down a a huge KGB, blind 313 and melon crow mobe off the kicker. TSR's Josh Rice from Texas claimed 2nd with technical tricks such as a switch 313 and Skeezer while the young up-and-coming riders Marc Shuster and Diego Shaw of Florida finished 3rd and 4th respectively.

The weekend’s events also included a best trick contest for wakeboard and wakeskate in a jam style, winner take all format held at the Monster Energy Drink Winch Park located on-site at KC Watersports. Local KC rider Carter Collins had the best hit for wakeboard with a 270 wallride 90 out and Ben Kaiser of Orlando, FL won the top spot for wakeskate with a boardslide kickflip off the incline rail.
