Malinoski Takes the Reigns in Texas to Capture Big Win
By WSM Press Release
Fort Worth, Texas – On the third and final day of competition, all eyes were on 2006 Pro Wakeboard Tour champion Danny Harf, as he was well on his way to reclaim victory in Ft. Worth. However, Rusty Malinoski took charge and went head-to-head with the four-time X Games champ in the final round of the 2007 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour to capture the Lone Star State victory.
"Danny is a strong rider and going head-to-head with him is a tough challenge," said Malinoski. "We both had great runs, but I guess today things just went my way."
Malinoski entered Fort Worth coming off a second-place finish at the tour's first stop in Acworth, GA. With two top-tier finishes this season, Malinoski is now the current leader of the 2007 Pro Wakeboard Tour and well on his way to being named the next tour champ.
The Jr. Men's division also took to the water today for their finals as well. A.J. Racinelli continues to make waves on the Jr. level, as he kept his winning streak alive with his second consecutive win of the season. The young rider out of California captured the top spot this weekend in Ft. Worth after riding against Jimmy LaRiche and Julian Cohen, who followed Racinelli respectively in the final round of competition for Jr. Men.
