The Wakeboarders Are Coming to Town

BEAUMONT, Tex -- The SETx Wakeboarding Club is revolutionizing the local wakeboarding community on June 15 and 16, 2007 with the 5th Annual SETx Mid-Summer Classic 2007 at the SETx Wakeboard Lake in Beaumont, TX. This annual water sports tournament has gained momentum year after year and has the Texas wakeboarding community calling it the "Best-Run Grassroots Event in Texas." This year's exciting event promises thrilling jumps, dare-devil flips and fun for the entire family along the banks of the SETx Wakeboarding Lake.

Friday night, June 15, the Mid-Summer Classic athletes will converge at the Crockett Street Entertainment District for a chance to check out some of the boats and wakeboarding videos. Wakeboarders and aspiring riders are invited to mix and mingle and enjoy drink specials, music and the 1st Annual SETx Bull Riding contest at the Dixie Dance Hall.

Saturday, June 16 - All events will be held at the SETx Wakeboarding Lake in Rose City, located off I-10 between Vidor and Beaumont, TX.

Directions to the SETx Wakeboard Lake From Houston: Take IH-10 east through Beaumont, exit "Bonner Turnaround", U-Turn IH-10 and look for signs.

Directions to the SETx Wakeboard Lake From Lake Charles: Take IH-10 west towards Beaumont, exit "Asher Turnaround" (about 1 mile out of Vidor), look for signs.

All Riders that want to compete in the tournament should arrive at the SETx Wakeboarding Lake Saturday morning for registration at 8:00 am. Registration fees are as follows: $20 for beginners, $25 for advanced, $35 for Expert and $40 for Outlaw. The event is open and FREE for spectators. The SETx Wakeboarding Club welcomes and encourages the public to come out and watch this exciting event. As always, bring your sunscreen, towel and swimsuit and expect delicious food, great prizes and a good time to be had by all!

This year, in addition to the flips, jumps and daredevil performances going on at the lake, the SETx Crew will bring more entertainment. New activities include:

• A trampoline contest by the beach - US Trampolines will be there with two new professional trampolines
• A washer tossing contest starting at 11:00am - Registration for the washers is from 9am - 11am
• Best Sports Fans will be on hand to put your favorite picture from the event on any ball they have in stock

With full support from the majority of last year's sponsors, the prizes will be more creative and worthwhile for the awarded riders. Riders are expected to come from all around the state of Texas and Louisiana to compete for trophies, cash, prizes and, of course, bragging rights! This year's event anticipates an impressive increase in the level of riding due to sparked interest in the Outlaw category. Besides a guaranteed purse of $700 cash and entry fees, this year's top rider in the outlaw division will be the "Featured Rider" at a later date on WakeWorld.com.

Wakeoutlaws.com is making a "kewl" SETx surf board for the winner of the Expert division and Lucky Devil is making "awesome" new trophies for the winners in all levels of riders. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd of each division. There will also be an award for the top three female riders of the day.

The SETx Wakeboarding Club has worked diligently over the past year traveling to various sites all over Texas and Louisiana promoting the "SETx" name and promoting this year's upcoming event. Expect to see well-rounded attendance, as many as 1,500 personalities, associated with the Texas Wakeboard scene.
